ServiceNow Health & Safety Technical Consultant / Developer at Datonomy Solutions

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced  ServiceNow Technical Consultant / Developer  with strong hands-on experience implementing, developing and configuring  ServiceNow Health & Safety / Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) solutions .

The role will focus on the  digitisation and automation of workplace health and safety processes , including inspections, audits, checklists, registers, statutory documentation, appointment letters and certificates.

A key component of the assignment will also involve designing and implementing a  digital contractor safety management platform , enabling contractors to securely submit safety files and supporting OHS specialists through structured review, remediation and approval workflows.

The successful candidate will combine strong  ServiceNow technical development skills  with an understanding of  Occupational Health & Safety processes, compliance requirements and workflow automation .

Key Responsibilities ServiceNow Health & Safety Implementation

Design, configure, develop and implement solutions using  ServiceNow Health & Safety / Health and Safety Risk Management  capabilities.

• Translate Occupational Health & Safety business requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.

• Configure and customise  workplace inspection and audit processes .

• Develop reusable inspection and audit templates, questionnaires and checklists.

• Configure scheduling, assignment and completion workflows for workplace inspections and audits.

• Enable the capture and management of  audit findings, non-conformances, corrective actions and follow-up activities .

• Support the configuration of OHS registers and structured health and safety records.

• Digitise the creation, management, approval and retention of  appointment letters, certificates and related safety documentation .

Contractor Safety File Management

Design and implement a digital platform for  contractor OHS and safety-file submissions .

• Enable external contractors to upload required documents and supporting evidence.

• Configure document classification, validation and submission requirements.

• Develop workflow processes allowing  OHS specialists to review, approve, reject or request amendments  to contractor documentation.

• Implement automated notifications and reminders for outstanding, rejected or expiring documentation.

• Maintain complete audit trails of submissions, reviews, approvals and changes.

• Where applicable, support contractor prequalification and the management of contractor safety credentials, certificates and compliance documentation.

Workflow & Process Automation

Automate manual and paper-based OHS processes using  ServiceNow Flow Designer, workflows, business rules and platform capabilities .

• Configure automated routing, tasks, notifications, escalations and approvals.

• Build configurable forms and assessments for different workplace, inspection, audit and contractor scenarios.

• Develop role-based experiences for contractors, OHS specialists, managers and administrators.

• Support mobile-friendly inspection and assessment processes where required.

• Identify opportunities to simplify existing OHS processes through workflow automation.

ServiceNow Development & Configuration

Configure and customise ServiceNow applications, forms, tables, views, UI policies and data models.

• Develop  Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Actions and server/client-side JavaScript  where required.

• Configure  Flow Designer  and reusable workflow components.

• Develop or configure portals / user experiences to support external contractor interaction.

• Implement document and attachment management requirements.

• Develop integrations with other enterprise applications where necessary using  REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub or other ServiceNow integration capabilities .

• Apply appropriate ServiceNow security controls including  roles, ACLs and access permissions .

• Follow ServiceNow development standards and ensure solutions remain maintainable and upgrade-compatible.

Business Analysis & Consulting

Engage with  OHS specialists, business stakeholders and technical teams  to understand current processes and pain points.

• Facilitate workshops to define functional and technical requirements.

• Analyse existing manual inspection, audit and contractor management processes and define future-state digital workflows.

• Advise stakeholders on where standard ServiceNow functionality can be used versus where configuration or custom development is required.

• Produce solution designs, workflow diagrams, configuration documentation and technical specifications.

• Provide demonstrations, knowledge transfer and implementation support.

Testing & Implementation

Perform unit and system testing of developed solutions.

• Support integration testing and  User Acceptance Testing (UAT) .

• Troubleshoot and resolve configuration and development issues.

• Support deployment across development, test/UAT and production environments.

• Provide post-implementation support and resolve production issues where required.

Essential Experience

Strong hands-on experience as a  ServiceNow Developer, Technical Consultant or Technical Specialist .

• Demonstrable ServiceNow configuration and development experience.

• Experience implementing or configuring  ServiceNow Health & Safety, Health and Safety Risk Management, OHS or EHS-related capabilities .

• Practical experience implementing  workplace inspections and/or audit processes .

• Experience building digital  checklists, assessments, forms and approval workflows .

• Experience developing complex workflows using  ServiceNow Flow Designer .

• Strong ServiceNow scripting experience using  JavaScript .

• Experience with ServiceNow data modelling, tables, forms, roles and security.

• Experience with document/attachment-based workflow solutions.

• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into ServiceNow technical solutions.

• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting capabilities.

Highly Advantageous Experience

ServiceNow Health and Safety Contractor Management  experience.

• Contractor onboarding, prequalification or  contractor safety-file management  experience.

• Experience creating external-facing contractor portals or ServiceNow user experiences.

• Experience with  Smart Assessments, Assessments & Surveys or Survey Designer .

• Mobile/offline inspection functionality.

• OHS compliance, risk management or regulatory workflow experience.

• Management of safety certificates, licences, competency documentation and expiry dates.

• Automated corrective-action and non-conformance management.

• ServiceNow  Employee Center / Service Portal / UI Builder  experience.

• REST API and  IntegrationHub  experience.

• ServiceNow reporting and dashboard development.

• Experience within banking or another large, highly governed enterprise environment.
