Start free — we apply for you →PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To maintain, repair, and upkeep mining equipment. Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose problems to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Serviceman Certificate Applicable Training Structures
- 1 - year experience as an Engineering Assistant

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Performs routine maintenance tasks, like lubrication, cleaning, and component replacement, to keep equipment running smoothly.
- Diagnoses and repair malfunctions, replacing parts as needed.
- Identifies the root cause of equipment malfunctions and recommends appropriate solutions.
- Ensures all maintenance and repair work is done in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Records maintenance activities, repairs, and any issues encountered in logbooks.
- Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimization.
- Builds, supports and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
- Provides relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
- Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
