About the Position
We are looking for a Service Technician Assistant to join our Service Team in eMalahleni.
This is a practical, hands-on position supporting Service Technicians with maintenance, inspections, repairs and general service activities on Malvern equipment at mining operations and workshops.
The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn, basic knowledge of tools and the ability to work safely and effectively in a mining and field-service environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Service Technician with inspections, maintenance and repairs on Malvern equipment.
Assist with servicing and maintenance of equipment at various mine sites.
Assist with disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly of equipment.
Assist with identifying mechanical and operational issues.
Complete job cards and maintenance documentation accurately.
Assist with scheduled maintenance activities and inspections.
Assist with vehicle and tool inspections and maintain accurate registers.
Ensure tools, equipment and service vehicles are kept clean, safe and organised.
Assist with inventory checks and identification of required spares.
Follow all mine health, safety and environmental requirements.
Participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks and safety activities.
Report hazards, incidents, unsafe conditions or technical concerns to the supervisor.
Wear and maintain required PPE.
Support the Service Technician and Service Manager with general workshop and field-service activities.
Travel to client sites and work overtime when required.
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable, organised, safety-conscious and willing to learn .
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced service environment, working with tools and equipment and supporting technicians on mining sites.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 / Matric.
Valid Driver's Licence.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Basic knowledge and safe handling of hand tools.
Practical ability to work with your hands.
Previous process plant or mining environment experience will be advantageous.
Basic mechanical or technical experience will be advantageous.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
Package & Remuneration
Market-related salary, based on qualifications and experience.
