Are you a technically hands-on IT professional with experience across servers, networks, security and infrastructure support? This is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining, securing and improving a business-critical ICT environment.
The Server & Network Engineer will support the organisation's ICT infrastructure across servers, networks, telephony, security and related applications. The role combines hands-on technical support with infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, optimisation, patching, security administration and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Server Network & Security Manager, the successful candidate will work across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support environments, providing telephonic, remote and onsite assistance while working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to resolve incidents and maintain service levels. The role will suit a technically capable professional who can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users and is comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure-related issues.
What You'll Do
Provide efficient and effective infrastructure support across servers, networks, telephony and security
Install and configure networking, telephony, Windows Server hardware, software and applications in line with best practice
Troubleshoot issues from operating system through to network level
Resolve hardware, network, application, firewall and infrastructure-related issues
Configure, optimise, fine-tune and monitor operating systems, firewalls, network devices, applications and cloud services
Monitor and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN and APN environments
Support the security of network and server environments through access controls and IT security policies
Schedule and manage firmware and patching across networks, phones, servers and applications
Maintain network fault logs, server and service logs and investigate infrastructure incidents
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Ensure supported hardware and applications comply with relevant licensing agreements
Manage infrastructure-related suppliers and contracts within prescribed SLAs
Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT support through telephonic, remote and onsite channels
Attend to ICT support requests and ensure timely resolution within agreed SLAs
Support the selection and installation of ICT resources
Provide user training where required
Assess infrastructure requirements and contribute to planning, provisioning and improvement initiatives
Liaise with third-party vendors to resolve incidents, problems and technical querie
