Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

Sauce-ing Marketing (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Warehouse Manager to take full operational control of our Cape Town warehouse. This is not a supervisory role in name only — we are looking for someone who understands that a high-performing warehouse is built on stock accuracy, disciplined processes, accountable people and tight operational controls.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will take end-to-end responsibility for the daily management and performance of the warehouse — from receiving and put-away through to picking, dispatch and returns. You will be expected to identify operational weaknesses, investigate variances and implement corrective controls that stick.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily warehouse activities, set priorities and ensure operational deadlines and service levels are met

• Take full ownership of stock accuracy and inventory control

• Manage cycle counts, stock takes, investigations, adjustments, losses and damages

• Oversee receiving, checking, labelling, put-away and stock locations

• Manage picking, packing and dispatch to ensure high accuracy and service levels

• Drive high levels of dispatch accuracy, on-time readiness and overall warehouse service levels

• Coordinate freight and ensure all dispatch documentation is accurate and complete

• Manage, develop and hold warehouse staff accountable for daily performance and productivity

• Address poor performance, non-compliance and procedural failures decisively

• Ensure strict transaction discipline and that all physical stock movements, transfers and adjustments are accurately and timeously reflected in the warehouse system

• Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly warehouse reporting, including stock, productivity, dispatch and operational KPIs

• Monitor and continuously improve warehouse systems, reporting and KPI performance

• Control warehouse layout, space utilisation and avoidable storage costs

• Maintain a clean, safe and secure warehouse environment at all times

• Ensure compliance with safety, security and fire-audit requirements

• Investigate recurring errors, losses and breakages and implement preventative measures

Desired Experience & Qualification

Experience & Technical Skills

• 5+ years' warehouse experience, with at least 2–3 years in a management or supervisory capacity

• Proven, hands-on experience in inventory management and stock control

• Strong working knowledge of receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch and returns processes

• Experience with warehouse management systems and Excel

• Ability to reconcile physical stock against system records and investigate discrepancies

Practical Requirements

• Own reliable transport and a valid driver's licence (essential)
