Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP, ISO);

• Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections;

• Ensure hazardous Chemical regulations are met;

• Ensure all customer Audit requirements adhere to and high standards maintained;

• Ensure Adherence to GWP Requirements;

• Ensure all IR’s Raised are reported, investigated and corrective action taken;

• Ensure cleanliness of the warehouses and maintaining high housekeeping standards;

Security

• Management of all security service providers, ensure adherence to site and customer Security requirements;

• Ensure daily Weekley and monthly Reporting in place and aligned to national requirements;

• Ensure Alignment on all Escort Procedures and Port Requirements;

• Conducted regular Site Inspections;

• Align Security Requirements with National Security Manager;

• Ensure cost control measures in place;

Finance Management

• Ensure all costing schedules are updated and submitted to accounts for invoicing  ;

• Manage and ensure profitability;

• Ensure on time submission of labour Provisions;

• Ensure GM Forecast Submitted Weekly;

• Ensure all financial controls and approval;

• Ensure End to end claims management process in place;

Equipment and Facility

• Ensure on going Maintenance of the buildings / yards / facilities & equipment ;

• Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced in accordance with required milestones to maintain operating efficiency;

• Sourcing and setting of additional warehouses as and when required;

Inventory & Stock Control

• Ensure accurate and real-time inventory tracking using WMS;

• Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock audits;

• Organize and oversee the various cargo defined in contractual terms and conditions;

• Stock take planning and management;

• Cycle counting and damages control;

• Ensure all Customer requirements met, all reporting submitted accurately and in time;

• Ensure constant WMS Maintenance, alignment to operational and customer requirements;

Staff Management

• Manage and develop warehouse teams to achieve organisational goals;

• Implement training programs focused on productivity and safety;

• Manage and encourage employees to optimize their outputs and foster a high-performance culture aligned within the various departments;

• Ensure adherence to company disciplinary code;

• Lead and motive the different teams under responsibility (refer to AGL Organogram);

• Performance management of all employees;

• Ensure sufficient staff is employed for client / company demand;

• Management of departmental training;

• Ensure management of labour broker contract, staff, HR, IR And cost controls;

Project Management

• Set Up project plans for all new Projects , customer take on and continues improvements;

• Implement Lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives;

• Promote automation and technology to reduce manual handling;

• Comply with the Compliance Self-Assessment;

• Set up and maintain all Departmental KPI;

• Set up and review all customer KPI’s;

• Ensure regular Sop Review and Operational Alignment;

• Ensure Roll out, implementation and operational alignment of all projects;

• Ensure review and submission of monthly customer and Management Presentations;

CMA Management

• Ensure all Collateral Management Procedures always adhere to at all time;

• Ensure all cargo Under HC is managed as pr CMA Procedure;

• Ensure CMA Alignment to customer requirements;

• Ensure all Monthly reporting summited for all cargo under HC;

• Ensure all CMA requirements are aligned and approved by legal;

• Ensure Due diligence is complete for banks and customers as and when required;

Bond store Management

• Ensure all customs regulations always adhere to;

• Ensure Bond book aligned to WMS;

• Facilitate any customs inspections;

• Manage time expire goods;

• Ensure weekly Warehouse inspections conducted;

Customer & Supplier Relations Management

• To ensure quality service delivery to all AGL clients is maintained;

• To liaise between clients and service delivery teams;

• Responsible for problem solving and service reporting;

• To develop and manage SLAs with constant checks on infrastructure and related support service delivery teams;

• Host suppliers, clients and outside enterprises  ;

• Oversee the good execution of the contracts related to equipment supply and participate to negotiation of some purchases (supplies, packings, warehouse supplies);

• Negotiate rates with suppliers;

Warehousing & Logistics

• Ensure monitoring of warehousing capacity and Productivity;

• Ensure management of 3rd party transporters, GIT, MRTA, Compliance and cost controls;

• Ensure management of 3 rd Party Warehouses, Compliance, negotiations and cost controls;

• Ensure storage and cargo handling done in accordance with customer Sops;

• Ensure administrative alignment with customer requirements, reporting and exception management;

• Ensure Warehousing solutions aligned with new customer requirements;

• Ensure regular alignment of warehouse Quotations with Estimations and sales teams;

• Ensure alignment of new projects with national teams for implementation;

• Constantly Researching and implementation of new technology in the warehouse environment;

• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with transport providers;

• Oversee the work of the teams concerning loading / unloading, preparation of orders, storage and shipping making available human and material resources, in harmony with the workload and contractual requirements;

Transport & Logistics

• Manage Transport Team;

• Manage, Monitor and Maintain Transport KPI’s;

• Manage and monitor monthly Forecast;

• Monitor Transport List / Customer List on Buy & Sell Rates;

• Manage, Monitor, and Investigate end to end Claims Process;

• Ensure Billing Completed in the relevant Timelines;

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric (Grade 12);

• Logistics and Supply chain degree;

• 5 years’ experience on WMS Systems;

• 5 years Clearing and forwarding experience;

• 3 Years experience Fleet and transportation management;

• 10 years relevant experience  in warehousing and Logistics;

• 3 years Bond store and collateral management experience;

• 5 years Food and Heath and safely experience, with background in Auditing;

• Management of Lage complex teams;

• Ability to manage, align, monitor and report on performance at all levels within the business, while identifying and taking appropriate corrective action to ensure the achievement of objectives;

• Ability to verbally exchange information and ideas in a clear and concise manner ensuring understanding and appropriate responses;

• Ability to apply commercial focused project management principles in developing and implementing best practice solutions;

• Ability to develop and maintain professional and positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through demonstrating an understanding and responsiveness to their needs, culture and differences;

• Ability to provide effective administrative support in the roll out of strategy related projects.
