An established organisation within the logistics, manufacturing, and FMCG sectors, known for its commitment to operational excellence and safety, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager. This pivotal role focuses on driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring seamless coordination across all supply chain activities to support the company's growth ambitions.
Where You'll Make an Impact
Manage daily warehousing operations including receiving, storage, and distribution to ensure smooth flow and optimal space utilisation.
Implement best practices for inventory control, stock management, and warehouse layout to enhance efficiency.
Oversee warehouse expenses and labour costs, analysing utilisation to optimise workforce productivity and control expenses.
Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, aiming for timely deliveries and cost-effective solutions.
Develop strategic relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to strengthen the supply chain.
Monitor and improve logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for process enhancement.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure materials are available, managing stock levels effectively.
Maintain high standards of quality assurance and compliance with health and safety regulations through regular audits and staff training.
Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and logistics staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Utilise and optimise the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard staff and assets.
Requirements
Proven experience of 10-15 years in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain management.
Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Extensive experience in inventory control, stock management, and production planning.
Demonstrated ability in cost control, labour management, and operational efficiency.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in managing WMS and other relevant software systems.
Must have experience with warehouses in excess of 20 000 m2
Experience managing own fleets and contractors
Experience dealing with pallets and racking systems
Nice to Have
A relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Familiarity with the latest trends in logistics technology and system enh
