Start free — we apply for you →Job Title: Senior Trailer Technician Start Date: 2026-07-15 - 2026-08-14 Vacancy Type: Permanent BOK005865 Sectors: Engineering & Technical Location: Gauteng , Midrand Salary: (Market related) Brief: Senior Trailer Technician with extensive experience and technical knowledge on modular abnormal load trailers required to be responsible for hands-on diagnosis, repair, modification, and technical sign-off of all trailer-related work, and provides technical guidance to the Workshop & Fleet Manager Detail: Qualification Matric or equivalent NQF 4 Relevant Trade Qualification (e.g. Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, or Heavy Vehicle/Trailer Technician Trade Test) or equivalent demonstrated competency Requirements Extensive experience (10 years+) working on heavy vehicle trailers, with specific experience on modular/abnormal load trailers (e.g. Goldhofer) preferred Proven track record diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, steering, and structural trailer systems Experience working in a trucking, transport, or abnormal load industry workshop Knowledge of health and safety, environmental, and quality standards relevant to trailer maintenance and repair Technical skills: in-depth knowledge of trailer systems and components - hydraulics, steering and self-tracking axles, suspension, braking, electrical systems, and structural components, particularly on Goldhofer modular trailers Diagnostic skills: ability to use specialised diagnostic tools and equipment to test, fault-find, and verify trailer system performance Hands-on repair and fabrication skills, including welding and structural repair where required Documentation skills: maintaining accurate technical records, job cards, and inspection reports show more...
