Senior Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and supportable technology solutions within a complex enterprise healthcare environment. This role will play a critical part in defining and evolving solution architecture, driving integration strategies, and shaping modern Azure-based platforms. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams, security specialists, and operations teams to translate complex business requirements into practical, future-ready technology solutions. Key Responsibilities

Architecture Leadership

• Develop and maintain solution and transition architectures aligned to business and product strategies. • Evaluate architecture options and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions. • Establish and drive architecture standards, principles, and reusable patterns. • Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints early in the delivery lifecycle. • Support the long-term evolution of enterprise platforms and products. • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction to delivery teams. Solution Design & Integration

• Translate business, operational, and product requirements into end-to-end solution designs. • Design integration solutions across internal systems, external providers, partners, and third-party platforms. • Define and govern • API architectures • Integration patterns • Data mappings • Security controls • Identity and Access Management (IAM) • Resilience and versioning strategies • Produce architecture artifacts including: • Architecture diagrams • Technical specifications • Data flow models • Design decision documents Healthcare Data & Security

• Design solutions supporting healthcare, billing, claims, and patient-related systems.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements such as POPIA.
• Support healthcare interoperability and data integration initiatives.
• Apply healthcare data standards and industry best practices where applicable.
• Promote security-by-design and governance throughout the solution lifecycle.

Cloud, Resilience & Innovation

• Architect Azure-based solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements including:
• Scalability
• Availability
• Performance
• Resilience
• Disaster Recovery
• Monitoring and Observability
• Leverage AI tools to support architecture design, requirements analysis, documentation, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Drive responsible and secure AI adoption across solutions.
• Contribute to continuous innovation and platform modernization initiatives.

Governance & Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate architecture review boards and solution discussions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams.
• Guide architects, analysts, engineers, and developers.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support effective knowledge transfer and sustainable solution ownership.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders, product owners, security teams, and operational teams.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:
• Computer Science
• Information Systems
• Software Engineering
• Systems Engineering
• Or a related discipline

Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in:
• Solution Architecture
• Systems Architecture
• Technical Design
• Software Engineering
• Proven experience delivering solutions from design through deployment and operational handover.
• Experience working within integration-heavy enterprise environments.
• Exposure to both legacy and modern technology ecosystems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership experience.
