Senior Software Developer (AI & .NET)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join their Johannesburg office. This role is ideal for a technically accomplished developer who enjoys building scalable, maintainable software while helping the business leverage AI to solve real operational challenges. Working within an approved Claude Enterprise environment, you will play a key role in modernising existing systems, developing new solutions, and mentoring other developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET.

• Build and support APIs and backend services.

• Enhance, optimise, and maintain existing business-critical systems.

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into reliable software solutions.

• Develop and optimise PostgreSQL databases, queries, and data models.

• Design efficient relational and vector-based data architectures.

• Drive practical AI adoption using Claude Enterprise and AI-assisted development workflows.

• Support the migration of low-code solutions to modern application architectures.

• Contribute to software architecture discussions and promote maintainable development practices.

• Mentor junior developers and encourage development best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with C# and .NET development.

• Strong experience building APIs and backend services.

• Advanced PostgreSQL and SQL development skills.

• Experience with database design, query optimisation, and data modelling.

• Practical experience working with Claude Enterprise and AI-assisted development workflows.

• Strong understanding of relational and vector database architectures.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Advantageous Experience

• Power Apps and Power Automate.

• Dataverse migration to PostgreSQL.

• Power BI.

• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

• JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or Blazor.

• Experience within Fintech, Financial Services, Lending, or other regulated industries.
