Start free — we apply for you →- We are seeking an experienced Red Seal Toolmaker / Senior Setter to join a high-volume precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialised gear cutting machinery and production tooling while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are achieved.
Requirements
- Grade 12 and Red Seal Toolmaker qualification.
- 10+ years' experience in toolmaking or precision machining.
- Strong experience with gear cutting machinery, milling machines, presses, pneumatic and hydraulic tooling.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, perform machine setups, and work independently.
- Programming knowledge and machine setting experience advantageous.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and optimise production equipment and tooling.
- Manufacture, maintain, and repair tooling and fixtures.
- Ensure first-off approvals and maintain product quality.
- Perform machine fault-finding, adjustments, and basic maintenance.
- Read technical drawings and machine manuals.
- Maintain safe working practices and high housekeeping standards.
- Drive continuous improvement and support operator training.
