SENIOR SALES REPRESENTATIVE (RETAIL WATER PUMPS) - PINETOWN (5480)

Introduction

Our client, a well-established supplier of pumps, fluid-control products and industrial solutions, is seeking an experienced and technically knowledgeable Senior Sales Representative to join their Pinetown branch.

The successful candidate must have extensive sales experience within the pumps and fluid-control industry, possess strong technical product knowledge and be fully capable of reading and interpreting pump curves . This position requires a driven salesperson who can develop new business while maintaining and growing an existing customer base

Duties & Responsibilities

• Promote and sell pumping systems and related fluid-control products

• Develop new business within the industrial, commercial, agricultural and engineering markets

• Manage, maintain and grow relationships with existing customers

• Conduct customer visits, site assessments and technical sales consultations

• Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable pump solutions

• Read and interpret pump curves to assist with accurate pump selection

• Prepare quotations, tenders and technical product proposals

• Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders

• Provide customers with professional technical advice and product support

• Liaise with internal sales, suppliers and technical teams regarding product availability and specifications

• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved guidelines

• Achieve monthly sales, margin and profitability targets

• Monitor competitor activity and identify new market opportunities

• Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines and call reports

• Assist with resolving customer queries and after-sales service matters

• Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, site visits and industry events

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification

• A relevant technical, mechanical or sales qualification will be advantageous

• Minimum of 5 years’ reselling water pumps and related products

• Strong technical knowledge of water pumps, pumping systems and applications

• Must be able to confidently read and interpret pump curves

• Understanding of flow rates, pressure, head, system requirements and pump selection

• Proven ability to identify and secure new business

• Established industry contacts within KwaZulu-Natal will be advantageous

• Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills

• Target-driven with a proven sales track record

• Computer literate with experience preparing quotations and sales reports

• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport

• Willing and able to travel to customer sites
