This position drives strategic revenue growth across the life science market by selling advanced laboratory technologies, consumables, and scientific solutions to research, biotech, pharmaceutical, and industrial clients

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Territory development — Build and execute a territory plan targeting academic research labs, biotech firms, CROs, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and industrial R&D units.
  • Technical solution selling — Present complex scientific products (instrumentation, reagents, diagnostics, automation) with confidence, translating technical features into customer outcomes.
  • Key account management — Grow strategic accounts through multi‑stakeholder engagement, long‑term relationship building, and cross‑selling.
  • Pipeline management — Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline, forecast monthly/quarterly revenue, and drive opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Market intelligence — Track competitor activity, emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and customer investment trends.
  • Customer training — Support product demonstrations, workshops, and onboarding for new installations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration — Work closely with applications specialists, marketing, product managers, and service teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.

SENIOR SALES REPRESENTATIVE LIFE SCIENCES

  • Customer training — Support product demonstrations, workshops, and onboarding for new installations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration — Work closely with applications specialists, marketing, product managers, and service teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.

Requirements

  • Life Science qualification — Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Sales experience — 8+ years in technical sales within life science, biotech, diagnostics, or laboratory equipment.
  • Proven success in capital equipment, consumables, or workflowbased solution selling.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, research methodologies, and instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate at senior levels.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the assigned territory.

Remuneration

Negotiable around R30k plus travel allowance, fuel allowance, laptop, data, cell phone and commission
