Mambo’s Storage & Home is seeking a Senior Retail Store Manager to lead store operations, drive profitability, and uphold the highest standards of compliance, risk management, and customer service. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a professional with proven retail management experience, operational discipline, and the ability to safeguard business performance while growing the brand.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership

• Oversee all aspects of store operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company standards.

• Manage stock levels, replenishment, shrinkage controls, and cash handling with strict accountability.

• Analyse sales figures, forecast trends, and implement strategies to achieve and exceed targets.

• Risk & Compliance Management

• Champion risk management practices, including loss prevention, cash security, and compliance with labour legislation.

• Ensure health, safety, and legal standards are consistently met.

• Uphold company policies and protect brand reputation through disciplined operational control.

• Leadership & People Development

• Lead, motivate, and develop staff to deliver exceptional customer service and operational performance.

• Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary processes in line with company standards.

• Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.

• Customer & Market Engagement

• Deliver outstanding customer experiences and resolve escalated complaints effectively.

• Provide strategic insight into Gauteng’s retail landscape, identifying opportunities for growth and brand visibility.

• Drive initiatives to expand business‑to‑business relationships alongside walk‑in trade.

• Business Reporting & Strategy

• Report regularly to senior management on store performance, risks, and opportunities.

• Contribute to strategic planning and execution to strengthen the brand’s presence in Gauteng.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification with relevant managerial training.

• 5 years’ experience in senior retail management, with a proven track record of driving sales and profitability.

• Strong operational focus with expertise in stock control, financial management, and compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to manage risk, enforce controls, and protect company assets.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities and contribute to business growth.
