Senior Retail IT Systems Support Specialist

Introduction

An opportunity exists for a technically strong Retail IT Systems Support Specialist to support and maintain business-critical space management systems within a large retail environment.

This is not a general helpdesk role. The successful candidate will support users, systems, hardware, software, access controls, system configuration, documentation and issue resolution linked to space planning and store-facing systems. The role requires someone who understands how IT systems support retail operations at scale

Duties & Responsibilities

• Providing technical support to users on space planning and related IT systems.

• Troubleshooting hardware, software and system-related issues.

• Installing, configuring and maintaining relevant software, hardware and peripheral devices.

• Logging, tracking and resolving IT support tickets.

• Managing user access, permissions and system roles.

• Supporting system configuration according to store or user requirements.

• Maintaining IT asset records, including hardware, peripherals and software licences.

• Ensuring systems are updated with relevant patches, fixes and security updates.

• Creating and maintaining technical documentation, user guides and troubleshooting procedures.

• Providing user training and guidance.

• Working with IT, development and system administration teams to resolve technical issues.

• Identifying ways to improve support processes and user experience.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 2+ years’ experience in IT support, hardware/software troubleshooting or systems support.

• 5+ years’ experience would be preferred for the senior level of this appointment.

• Experience supporting retail IT systems, store systems, POS, space planning, planogram, merchandise, category, or store-facing applications would be highly advantageous.

• Strong technical troubleshooting ability.

• Experience with system configuration, user access management and documentation.

• Good communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.

• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across IT, operations and business teams.

• Willingness to learn specialist retail systems and support them at a high standard.
