This opportunity is suited to an engineering professional with extensive renewable energy experience and a strong technical background in utility-scale wind, solar, hydro, and battery energy storage projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Understanding of civil or electrical engineering regulations, codes, and standards.
- Excellent technical report-writing, presentation, and communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
- Professional engineering registration would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical advisory services for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and engineering design reviews.
- Support owner's engineering, lender's technical advisory, and independent engineering assignments.
- Review technical reports, contracts, grid connection agreements, and turbine supply agreements.
- Undertake civil, electrical, structural, foundation, and environmental assessments as required.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, calculations, presentations, and project documentation.
- Participate in site inspections, construction monitoring, and supervision activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve technical processes and service delivery.
- Contribute to tender preparation, client engagement, and business development activities.
Desirable Experience
- Renewable energy consulting experience within Africa.
- Technical due diligence and construction supervision.
- Renewable energy facility design and root cause analysis.
- Digitalisation, AI programming, and technological development.
