- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist in anaesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics or general surgery.
- Registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist Independent Practice in relevant specialty
- Commuted overtime is compulsory.
- Training and experience in airway management, including intubation.
- Training and experience in use of point of care ultrasound
- Communication skills required for consultation, letter writing and report generation.
DUTIES
- Fulltime clinical service provision within ALL units falling under Division of Critical Care.
- Patient care, teaching and training, and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Participation in management and resource allocation within Critical Care.
- Participation in clinical audit programmes
- Development and implementation of research pertinent to Critical Care.
- Research for fulfilment of the MPhil degree.
