- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa HPCSA as a Medical Specialist. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist Independent Practice in Medicine. Inherent requirements of the job: Commuted overtime is compulsory.
- Competencies knowledge/skills: Knowledge appropriate for approach to investigations of common cardiovascular disorders. Facilitation of management system. Effective and efficient administration. Communication including report generation, letter writing, consultation. Clinical Skills required of a Medical Specialist Physician e.g. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency contexts.
DUTIES
- Clinical Governance and Administration. Clinical Service Provision. Research for fulfilment of the MPhil Degree. Teaching and Training/Supervision of Junior Staff.
