We are a growing property portfolio based in Johannesburg, looking for a highly experienced, detail-driven Senior Property Bookkeeper . This is not a general bookkeeping role. You will take full financial ownership of our residential/commercial portfolio.
To be considered for this role, advanced, hands-on experience using MDA Property Manager (MRI Software) is advantageous . You must be capable of handling the property accounting cycle independently up to Trial Balance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Portfolio Billing: Manage and input monthly rental and levy billing, automate annual escalation percentages, and accurately process utility/maintenance and muncipal rate recoveries.
- Trust Account Management: Oversee and reconcile tenant security deposit trust accounts.
- Debtors & Creditors: Manage full function collections, tenant reconciliations, age analysis, and supplier payments.
- Financial Reporting: Generate monthly management accounts, cash flow statements, and variance reports directly out of MDA, exporting to Excel for deep data analysis.
- Manage and Mentor : Accounts clerk and leasing clerk
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Software: 3–5+ years of daily experience on MDA Property Manager / MRI Software or other relevant property management software
- Experience: 5+ years as a Senior Bookkeeper or Property Accountant within the South African real estate sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of "Books to Trial Balance" and advanced MS Excel.
- Attributes: High emotional intelligence, sharp problem-solving skills for complex tenant queries, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Remuneration
Between R330 000 to R550 000 CTC : Experience and Qualification dependent
