Start free — we apply for you →Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Professional Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership, oversee project execution and support the ongoing development of a structural engineering team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
- At least 10 years of verifiable post-registration experience in structural engineering.
- Proven ability to manage engineering teams and deliver quality work within agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Experience using MasterSeries or Prokon, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication and client relationship skills.
- A proactive approach to project ownership, quality management and independent decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Direct structural engineering projects from inception and feasibility through detailed design, tendering, construction and completion.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, technical specifications, tender documentation and engineering reports.
- Manage and quality-assure design deliverables, including drawings, schedules and reports.
- Lead project teams of engineers, designers and draughtspersons, ensuring effective resource allocation and timely delivery.
- Assess existing structures and prepare condition assessment reports.
- Administer structural contracts and monitor construction activities.
- Lead site and technical meetings, manage technical queries and coordinate the resolution of engineering issues and disputes.
- Contribute to project budgeting, operating and capital cost estimates, progress reporting and financial administration.
- Mentor candidate engineers and technologists and contribute to the professional development of technical staff.
