Start free — we apply for you →Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Engineer to build and scale sophisticated AI-powered solutions for enterprise clients. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of backend architecture, develop intelligent agent systems, and deliver reliable, production-ready technology across multiple communication channels.
Key Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript (Node.js).
- Experience designing APIs and integrating third-party platforms.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including data modelling and query optimisation.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.
- Demonstrated experience delivering LLM-powered features or applications to production.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.
Advantageous
- Experience with queues and event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to WhatsApp Business API, voice AI, or telephony integrations.
- Hands-on experience with agent orchestration, RAG, or LLM evaluation.
- Familiarity with Supabase or n8n.
- Exposure to insurance, telecommunications, or financial services.
- Knowledge of POPIA and responsible personal data handling in AI systems.
- Experience in technical scoping, pre-sales, or client-facing projects.
