Introduction

To monitor and optimise production process performance and ore control across the value chain, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining product quality and compliance with business requirements. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure production areas are planned according to product grades and sizes, continuously monitor half stacks          and associated sample pots, and track progress to ensure compliance with production schedules, operational          targets and customer requirement.
  • Monitor and report product quality performance across all products and shafts. Conduct particle size                        distribution analyses, evaluate screening efficiencies, investigate quality deviations, and ensure products                   comply with customer specifications.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate metallurgical reports, including ore flow reports, production quality reports,              interim and final technical reports, progress reports, and other metallurgical reports as required.
  • Manage and execute ore control processes and procedures throughout the value chain to optimise ore flow,            blending, stockpile management and product stacking.
  • Conduct regular stack area audits to verify stockpile integrity, ensure accurate production stock reporting,               identify discrepancies, and support effective production reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with the PMIS, Survey, and Surface Ore Transport departments to ensure accurate stock                          accounting,ore movement tracking, stockpile reconciliation, and alignment of production data across the value        chain.
  • Analyse production outputs to identify opportunities for process and operational improvement.
  • Facilitate and work with continuous improvement teams on operational projects.
  • Keep up with the latest innovations and technologies.
  • Assist in research and development as directed by management to improve production processes.
  • Execute technical studies and general technical reports on findings and outcomes.
  • Maintain effective document management systems, document change control, and records in accordance with        ISO 9001 quality requirements and company document control procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify unsafe conditions, investigate incidents, implement corrective and                        preventive actions, and ensure safe work practices are maintained throughout the area of responsibility.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
  • National Diploma Metallurgy / Chemical NQF Level 6 (Required)
  • Bachelor of Technology Metallurgy / Chemical NQF Level 7 (Required)
  • Management / Supervisory Development Programme NQF Level 5 (Advantageous)
  • Valid Code B/EB Driver’s License (Required)
  • 3 – 5 Years Metallurgy experience in heavy industry, mining, and production plant environment.
  • 2 Years in Production process control, mineral processing, metallurgical sampling, metallurgical accounting,              test work, crushing and screening operations, metallurgical unit operations, and production planning.
  • 2 Years Supervisor experience.
