About the Role

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to take a leading technical role in the design and execution of complex process engineering projects. The successful candidate will combine advanced process engineering expertise, technical leadership and project coordination , while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions. This position is ideally suited to a technically strong engineer with extensive experience in process plant design and multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering design activities across feasibility, detailed design and project execution phases.

• Develop and review mass and energy balances, process simulations and equipment sizing calculations.

• Oversee the preparation of BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications and process design documentation.

• Develop process design philosophies, operating philosophies and technical reports.

• Lead or contribute to HAZOPs, SIL assessments, technical reviews and process safety studies.

• Provide technical input into project scopes, tenders, cost estimates and engineering proposals.

• Coordinate process engineering deliverables across multidisciplinary project teams.

• Provide technical guidance during equipment procurement, construction, commissioning and performance testing.

• Identify process improvements and opportunities for optimisation.

• Mentor and supervise junior and intermediate Process Engineers.

• Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable technical standards, safety requirements and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc Engineering in Chemical Engineering from a recognised institution.

• 8+ years' relevant process engineering experience , preferably within a multidisciplinary engineering or EPCM environment.

• Proven experience in process plant design within the mining, metallurgical, chemical, gas cleaning or related industrial sectors.

• Strong technical expertise in mass and energy balances, process modelling, equipment sizing and process design.

• Extensive experience with PFDs, P&IDs, process specifications and engineering documentation.

• Practical exposure to HAZOP studies, process safety and plant commissioning.

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work packages and mentor engineers.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to engage confidently with clients, engineering teams and project stakeholders.
