SENIOR OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR - SECURITY

Introduction

A leading security company based in Edenvale is looking for a robust, experienced, and professional Senior Operations Supervisor to join our team.

The successful candidate will act as the second-in-command (2IC) to the Operations Manager, providing hands-on operational support, leadership, and supervision across multiple sites.

This is a hands-on operational position, with the successful candidate is required to work predominantly night shifts, weekends, and after-hours to ensure effective supervision, service delivery and support to our clients and security officers.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Senior Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing security operations across assigned sites, ensuring that all client requirements are consistently met and that Security Officers maintain the required standards of performance, discipline and professionalism.

The successful candidate will be required to lead from the front, manage operational challenges effectively and provide reliable support to the Operations Manager, particularly outside of normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and supervise Security Officers across assigned sites

• Ensure all site-specific security requirements and client instructions are consistently met

• Monitor service delivery and ensure company standards are maintained

• Conduct regular site inspections and identify areas requiring improvement

• Maintain professional and effective relationships with clients

• Address operational issues promptly and escalate matters to the Operations Manager where required

• Monitor staff attendance, performance, appearance, discipline and compliance

• Manage disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and procedures

• Liaise daily with the Operations Manager and Control Room regarding operational matters

• Provide operational support and guidance to Security Officers, particularly during night shifts and weekends

• Ensure all incidents and operational matters are properly investigated, recorded and reported

• Compile and submit accurate weekly and monthly operational reports

• Assist with staff deployment, relief arrangements and operational planning

• Ensure that all required administrative duties are completed accurately and on time

• Assist the Operations Manager with maintaining consistent service levels across all sites

• Act as the 2IC to the Operations Manager and assume responsibility for operational matters when required

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• PSIRA Grade A or B registration and accreditation – ESSENTIAL

• Valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record – ESSENTIAL

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the security industry

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management position

• Strong knowledge of security operations and site management

• Excellent people-management and leadership skills

• Strong administrative and organisational abilities

• Excellent communication and client liaison skills

• Computer literate (experience with Easy Roster will be an advantage)

• No criminal record

FIREARM COMPETENCY

Business Competency in the following firearms is essential

• Handgun

• Shotgun

• Rifle

Package & Remuneration

Salary will depend on grading , expereience and qualifications , Grade B / A
