Senior .NET Frontend Developer (Blazor) — Financial Services

Introduction

Location: Cape Town – Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site)

We are seeking a Senior .NET Frontend Developer with strong C# and ASP.NET Core experience to build and maintain interactive, component-driven web applications using Blazor for a client in the financial services sector.

This is not a traditional JavaScript frontend role. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned .NET engineer who has moved into UI development through Blazor, or who has deep experience in Razor, ASP.NET Core, and component-based architecture and is ready to apply it to a modern Blazor stack. You will work on applications where data integrity, security, regulatory compliance, and auditability are paramount, and where the UI must handle complex financial data with precision and clarity.

You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, business analysts, and domain experts to deliver robust, maintainable, and performant front-end solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive web UIs using Blazor (Server, WebAssembly, or Web App hosting models, depending on project needs)

Build reusable, modular Razor components that are testable, accessible, and consistent with design standards

Integrate front-end components with REST APIs and backend services built on ASP.NET Core

Implement complex data grids, forms, charts, and input controls required for financial applications, using component libraries such as DevExpress, Telerik, or MudBlazor

Apply client-side and server-side validation rigorously, ensuring data accuracy and integrity in all user-facing workflows

Manage application state effectively across components and sessions

Handle JavaScript interop where necessary, while keeping JS usage minimal and purposeful

Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following SOLID principles and established design patterns

Participate in code reviews , contributing to and upholding team coding standards

Collaborate with backend developers, QA, and business stakeholders to translate financial domain requirements into functional UI

Ensure applications meet security, auditability, and regulatory requirements common in financial services

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines , build processes, and deployment strategies for Blazor applications

Stay current with the evolving Blazor ecosystem and recommend improvements to tooling and architecture

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential

5+ years of professional experience in C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Core / .NET 6+ / ASP.NET Core)

Proven experience building component-based web UIs , ideally with Blazor, or with Razor Pages, ASP.NET MVC, or Web Forms with a clear ability to transition

Strong understanding of Razor syntax and the component lifecycle

Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3 , and responsive design principles

Working knowledge of JavaScript sufficient for interop scenarios

Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs

Familiarity with dependency injection , middleware, and the ASP.NET Core request pipeline

Proficiency with Git and collaborative version control workflows

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a client-facing environmen

Desirable

Direct hands-on experience with Blazor (Server, WebAssembly, or Hybrid)

Experience in financial services, banking, fintech, or another regulated industry

Experience with Blazor component libraries such as DevExpress, Telerik, Syncfusion, or MudBlazor

Familiarity with automated testing for .NET frontends (bUnit, Playwright, Selenium)

Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions , or similar CI/CD tooling

Understanding of authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT) in .NET applications

Experience with state management patterns and libraries in Blazor
