Senior Mobile Developer (Banking Sector)

Description

We are looking for a high-calibre, hands-on Senior Mobile Developer to design, build, and evolve secure, high-performance mobile applications used across iOS and Android.

This is not a maintenance-only role. You will take ownership of complex mobile features from architecture through release, influence technical decisions, and help establish modern, AI-enabled mobile engineering practices in a forward-thinking delivery team.

Your impact

• Design, build, test, and release high-quality cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native or .NET MAUI.

• Own the technical delivery of complex features, balancing performance, usability, scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Partner closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and QA to convert product requirements into polished mobile experiences.

• Integrate and optimise connectivity with backend services through RESTful APIs, GraphQL, authentication flows, and error-handling patterns.

• Establish and improve engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, and mobile release management.

• Drive reliable releases to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including troubleshooting production incidents and implementing long-term fixes.

• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude responsibly to improve delivery speed, documentation, testing, and code quality.

• Mentor intermediate developers, contribute to architectural discussions, and champion practical mobile development best practice.

What you bring

• 5+ years’ professional experience in mobile application development, including ownership of production-grade iOS and Android applications.

• Strong commercial experience in either:

• React Native: TypeScript, React Navigation, Redux/Zustand or equivalent state management; or

• .NET MAUI: C#, XAML, MVVM, dependency injection, and mobile application architecture.

• Demonstrable experience delivering polished, responsive, and performant mobile UI/UX.

• Strong knowledge of API integration, authentication, state management, offline/error handling, and secure mobile development principles.

• Hands-on experience with automated testing, source control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes.

• Experience publishing and supporting applications on the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store is strongly preferred.

• Evidence of practical, daily use of AI development tools to improve productivity and quality; candidates should be ready to discuss real examples during the interview process.

• The confidence to work independently, communicate technical trade-offs clearly, and influence peers through sound engineering judgement.
