- BSc or BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 810 years' experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as Creo, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), design calculations, and product development.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, structural design, piping systems, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacture principles.
- Experience working within mining, manufacturing, heavy industry, defence, rail, or process plant environments will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment from concept through to production.
- Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform design calculations, simulations, FEA analyses, and engineering evaluations.
- Develop and manage engineering data packs, bills of materials, and revision-controlled documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
- Conduct design reviews and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Liaise with suppliers, production teams, and customers regarding technical requirements and design improvements.
- Support prototype development, testing, commissioning, and product optimisation activities.
- Manage product lifecycle activities and engineering change processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
