Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems and components for complex engineering projects

• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D engineering drawings

• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation

• Maintain accurate product information within PLM/PDM systems

• Conduct concept reviews and detailed design reviews

• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the design process

• Evaluate project scope and support the successful delivery of engineering projects

• Collaborate with manufacturing, analysis, testing, and procurement teams to optimize designs

• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

• Develop practical and cost-effective solutions for product improvements and engineering challenges

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, manufacturability, and performance

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years' post-graduate mechanical design experience

• Strong experience in product design and engineering development environments

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software; Siemens NX experience will be advantageous

• Experience creating detailed engineering drawings and complex assemblies

• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture principles

• Experience with BOM creation and management

• Ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

• Willingness to travel internationally when required

Qualification

• BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering
