PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

  • Teaching Agricultural Economics, Farm Accounting & Management, Agricultural Finance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching

  • Pass rate.

Postgraduate supervision

  • Completion rate.

Research and Innovation

  • Publications in DHET subsidy qualified journals.

Community engagement

  • Community impacts.

Minimum requirements

  • A PhD NQF level 10 in Agricultural Economics.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching in a university environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in publication –DHET listed.
  • Postgraduate supervision, Research publications and community engagement.

RECOMMENDATIONS / ADDED ADVANTAGES

  • Must be accredited with Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa AEASA.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to teach Agricultural Economics, Agricultural finance, Farm Accounting and Management and Food Security Analysis.
  • Ability to supervise honours and postgraduate students.
  • Ability to carry out collaborative and independent research publishable in DHET listed Journals.
  • Ability to attract research funds.
  • International collaborations.

  • Maintain high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism in academic and research activities.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, inclusivity and respect for diversity in teaching and professional interactions.

REMUNERATION

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
