Main Objectives

  • All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge teaching and learning, creating knowledge research, and engaging with the community, recognising that these responsibilities are executed differently across the various departments and Faculties.
  • Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or University level.

The Requirements

  • A PhD in Economics which has been completed at the time of application or a Master's Degree in Economics with at least 10 years of industry experience specialising in Financial Markets Regulation.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision at the master's level
  • Experience in applying a variety of quantitative research methods in supervision and in teaching such as running practicals.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise across a broad range of topics in areas of economics focused on Financial Markets and Financial Markets Regulation and/or Monetary Economics, with particular expertise in Financial Technology FinTech, Digital Finance, and related developments in contemporary monetary and financial systems.
  • A strong emerging research profile at a national level publications in accredited journals, conference attendance, etc., with international research collaboration and publications a significant advantage.
  • A track record of administration, management, and/or leadership roles.
