Senior Java Developer

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a collaborative and innovative software development team. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level applications while contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring team members, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support existing systems and develop new functionality and components.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand and implement business requirements.

• Refactor and enhance code to improve maintainability and scalability.

• Develop production-quality software through rigorous testing and quality assurance practices.

• Create and maintain unit and integration tests.

• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis in integrated environments.

• Build, deploy, and maintain applications on enterprise application servers.

• Contribute to performance optimisation and high-availability initiatives.

• Collaborate with developers across the team to ensure seamless integration of solutions.

• Mentor and support junior developers while promoting development best practices.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Engineering , or related field, alternatively Matric with extensive relevant experience.

• 8-10 years' software development experience , including a minimum of 5 years in a Senior Developer role within a team-based environment.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Java 8+ (Java 17 advantageous)

• Java EE (J2EE)

• JPA / Hibernate

• SQL and relational databases

• ReactJS

• HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap

• REST and SOAP services

• Git, Maven, Jenkins

• Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, software development tools, and best practices.

• Proven ability to mentor team members and work effectively in an Agile/team environment.
