Senior Java Developer

Are you a Senior Java Developer who thrives on building scalable, high-performance enterprise applications? An established organisation within the financial services sector is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its technology team on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Sandton, offering the chance to work on enterprise-scale applications that support critical business operations.

You will play a key role in the full software development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions while contributing to technical excellence across the development team.

Key Responsibilities: -    Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications. -    Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices. -    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions. -    Develop clean, secure, and maintainable code following best practices. -    Troubleshoot, optimise, and support production applications. -    Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design. -    Mentor junior developers and promote engineering excellence. -    Ensure solutions are delivered in line with Agile and SDLC methodologies.

Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile: Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile Education -    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Informatics, or a related field.

Experience -    Minimum 10 years' commercial Java development experience. -    Enterprise application development experience. -    Banking or financial services experience is advantageous. -    System Design experience is beneficial.

Technical Skills -    Java, Spring Boot, Angular, NodeJS -    Microservices, REST APIs, SOA -    Docker, Kafka, Hibernate -    JBoss, Tomcat, Maven -    MSSQL, Nexus, TeamCity -    Agile & SDLC

Advantageous -    Camunda or TIBCO AMX -    Drools Rules Engine -    AWS or Azure Cloud

Other: Location, Sandton (Hybrid), 12-Month Contract
