This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned developer with extensive Java and SQL experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building scalable enterprise solutions, and mentoring through technical excellence. Applicants should have at least 10 years of commercial software development experience .
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
- Develop robust, high-performance software solutions using modern Java technologies.
- Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries and database structures.
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions.
- Troubleshoot complex application and database issues.
- Collaborate with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain and improve existing applications while developing new functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure software quality, maintainability, and performance.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years' overall experience in Information Technology.
- 10+ years' commercial software development experience.
- 10+ years' SQL database experience, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Minimum 5 years' Java development experience.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Java SE 8, 21 and 25.
- Java EE.
- EJB, JMS, JDBC and JNDI.
- JBoss Undertow.
- Glassfish.
- PostgreSQL.
- Git.
- Apache Kafka.
- Docker.
- Ubuntu.
