Senior Java Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to contribute to the design, development and delivery of market-leading Point of Sale solutions within a large retail environment. This role requires a strong technical professional with proven enterprise Java experience, sound business acumen and the ability to work confidently with international project teams, customers and senior stakeholders.

Skills Required

• 5+ years' experience developing retail Point of Sale solutions, preferably using Java.

• 5+ years' experience developing enterprise Java solutions.

• Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and SQL.

• Strong experience integrating enterprise and third-party systems.

• Knowledge of SAP solutions and SAP integration is a strong requirement.

• Good knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server.

• Experience with Eclipse, Spring, SVN, JUnit, Web Services, GWT and CI tools such as Jenkins and Nexus.

• Knowledge and understanding of the PMLC.

• Experience with software ergonomics and/or UI design.

• Strong analytical, conceptual, mathematical and fault-finding skills.

• Strong business acumen and experience working within large corporate, matrix environments.

• University degree in Information Science, IT or a related field, or equivalent relevant education.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Strong documentation, record-keeping and organisational skills.

• Knowledge of SAP technologies will be advantageous.
