Our client in the Banking sector is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join their team. The initial contract period is 12 months, subject to the organisation’s operational requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for translating detailed technical designs into functional, high-quality software solutions through programming and configuration. The role requires strong hands-on Java development experience, with the ability to contribute to complex software development initiatives while providing technical guidance and mentorship to fellow developers
The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Jave 17 and a strong understanding of software development principles, coding standards and best practices within an enterprise environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Translate detailed technical designs and specifications into functional software solutions
- Develop, enhance, configure and maintain software applications using Java 17
- Write clean, efficient, reusable and maintainable code in accordance with established development standards
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance
- Analyse technical requirements and identify appropriate development solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex software defects and technical issues
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to other software developers
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17
- Solid understanding of object-orientated programming and software development principles
- Good understanding of software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle
- Ability to interpret technical designs and translate them into working software solutions
