Senior IT Business Analyst

Introduction

The Senior IT Business Analyst will form part of the IT department and support commercial and consumer functions across the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions. The role will be responsible for understanding business needs, analysing and documenting requirements, translating these into effective system and technical requirements, and working closely with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams and product owners throughout the solution lifecycle.

The successful candidate will operate across both the business and technology environment, combining strong business analysis capabilities with a solid understanding of systems, data, integrations and solution delivery. Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify and establish the scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria and metrics.

• Perform end-to-end requirements elicitation and analysis, validating business needs and translating them into clear and actionable requirements.

• Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility and feasibility.

• Work with business stakeholders and project teams to prioritise requirements and ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

• Develop and document user stories, acceptance criteria and associated requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Analyse business processes, systems and data to understand dependencies, relationships and impacts across the solution.

• Analyse data elements and systems, including data flows, dependencies and relationships, to contribute to conceptual, physical and logical data models.

• Develop a strong understanding of data sources, system interactions and integration requirements to support effective solution design.

• Design and develop integration services and ETL processes.

• Review and validate collected data to ensure it meets the required quality standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyse and translate requirements for the development of solutions or applications from inception through to delivery.

• Support the definition and execution of software testing activities, including quality assurance, regression testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Analyse data to draw business-relevant conclusions and support effective business decision-making through data visualisation.

• Ensure alignment with organisational policies and guidelines relating to security and compliance.

• Assess and implement IT IPG requirements and Data Privacy policies and guidelines, including SOX and GDPR, to minimise risks relating to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.

• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood and solutions are delivered accurately and effectively.

• Communicate technical concepts and system requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar field.

• Salesforce Administrator certification is essential.

• 10–15 years' experience in business analysis and systems development.

• 5–7 years' experience working with Agile methodologies, with strong LEAN and SCRUM proficiency.

• 5–7 years' proven experience in requirements elicitation, gathering, documentation and management.

• Proven experience analysing business needs, translating requirements into system or application solutions and working through the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.

• Experience working across both business and system requirements, with the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Experience developing requirements for the creation of a solution or application from inception.

• Strong understanding of data flows, data sources, system integration and dependencies between systems.

• Experience analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and support business decision-making.

• Experience with data visualisation techniques and tools, particularly Power BI.

• Good understanding and practical experience of software testing strategies, approaches and techniques, including quality assurance, regression testing and UAT.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the development and implementation of technology solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business and system requirements.

• Excellent people and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Self-starter with a willingness to learn and adopt practical approaches.
