Senior IT Business Analyst

Introduction

Namlog, a leading provider of logistics solutions, is looking for an Senior IT Business Analyst to join our team. As a Senior IT Business Analyst, you will be responsible to bridge the gap between business needs, technology and service delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing business requirements, improving processes, defining system solutions and supporting the successful implementation of technology initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Business Requirements Analysis: Engage stakeholders to understand business needs, define project objectives and translate requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Process Analysis and Improvement: Analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies and control gaps, and recommend opportunities for process optimisation, standardisation and automation.

• Solution and Vendor Management: Develop structured solution specifications, engage with vendors and service providers, assess proposed solutions and ensure alignment with approved business requirements.

• Systems Integration and Data Analysis: Define data and integration requirements, collaborate with technical teams, and use data analysis and intermediate SQL skills to validate information and resolve business and system-related issues.

• Testing and Implementation Support: Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, validate system functionality, manage defect tracking and contribute to implementation readiness, user training and post-implementation reviews.

• Documentation and Governance: Maintain accurate business requirements, process maps, technical specifications and testing documentation, while ensuring compliance with established governance and change management processes.

• Continuous Improvement: Monitor solution effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders and project teams to ensure business solutions deliver the intended outcomes.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric / National Senior Certificate.

• A relevant bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 7 in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, Business Management or a closely related discipline is preferred.

• A recognized Business Analysis qualification or certification is advantageous, for example IIBA ECBA, CCBA or CBAP, or a relevant MICT SETA / SAQA-aligned Business Analysis qualification.

• Agile, Scrum, Kanban, project management, process modelling or testing certification is advantageous but not mandatory.

• At least three years’ practical experience in an IT Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or comparable role; experience in logistics, transport, supply chain or a vendor-led systems environment is advantageous.

• Responsible for contributing to the delivery of IT projects from definition phases through to successful delivery.

• Have an appetite to learn and implement new technologies.
