Job Description

If managing imports, coordinating freight, and ensuring compliance is your strength, you could be our next Senior Import Controller - Seafreight
This role is based at our Cape Town Seafreight Branch in Airport City.

Education

Matric
2-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 4 or NQF level 5 or equivalent

Knowledge and experience

Have 5-7 recent years import controlling experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry with proven track record of end-to-end process execution.
To co-ordinate the freight movement of Import cargo through the international transport chain in terms of the client's import requirements
INCOTERMS
Knowledge of commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps
Sound knowledge of seafreight shipment types. Sound knowledge of claims/insurance processes.
Geographic locations
Knowledge and interpretation of rate structure
National currencies and international codes
Computer literacy MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Good Interpersonal skills. Leadership skills. Good communication skills written &verbal
Situation analysis and problem solving. Client orientation
Accuracy, Punctual and attention to detail. Time Management
Deadline Driven
Ability to work in pressurised environment
RCG Reporting of Conveyances and Goods
Financial Acumen. Data Quality
