About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced, high-caliber Senior Housekeeping Supervisor with proven leadership skills and extensive hotel housekeeping experience to oversee floor operations in Rosebank. This is a step up from a standard supervisory position. As a Senior Supervisor, you will act as a key operational anchor on the floor, driving hotel-grade quality assurance, mentoring junior supervisors and room attendants, and serving as a trusted link between daily housekeeping operations, the Executive Housekeeper, and Contract Management.

Duties & Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Senior Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee shift-to-shift floor activities, taking senior ownership of daily room allocations, staff deployment, and handover execution across teams.

• Advanced Quality Assurance & Auditing: Conduct rigorous high-level room inspections (converting Vacant Dirty to Vacant Ready status) and public area audits to enforce uncompromising 4/5-star hospitality hygiene and aesthetic standards.

• Team Supervision & Mentorship: Lead, motivate, and mentor junior supervisors, room attendants, and cleaning staff; manage shift rosters, control absenteeism, and drive continuous on-the-job training.

• Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Act as a key daily liaison with the client's Executive Housekeeper and site management; handle complex guest/client requests, resolve escalated queries promptly, and safeguard SLA compliance.

• Inventory, Cost & Asset Control: Oversee strict daily and monthly stock controls for linen, guest amenities, and cleaning chemicals; monitor chemical dilution ratios and audit equipment maintenance to minimize wastage and control site costs.

• Compliance & HR Administration: Assist Contract Management with basic site HR functions, enforce IR/disciplinary protocols, lead safety toolbox talks, and ensure strict compliance with OHS guidelines.

What you’ll need

• Work Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of senior or lead supervisory experience strictly within Hotel Housekeeping Operations (Commercial Hotels, Resorts, or Luxury Hospitality environments).

• Proven Senior Capabilities: Demonstrated track record in leading teams, conducting senior-level quality audits, managing room turnarounds, and handling client-facing communication.

• Technical Industry Expertise: Expert knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards, chemical management/MSDS, linen count protocols, and room inspection workflows.

• Interpersonal & Leadership Skills: Exceptional people leadership, diplomacy, problem-solving skills, and the authority to command respect while fostering team cohesion.

• Shift Availability: Fully flexible and prepared to work rotating shift schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.

• Transport: Must have reliable, dependable transport to ensure punctual arrival for shift handovers in Rosebank.

• Education: Matric pass required; Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management or Operations is highly advantageous.
