Job Title: Kids Club host Start Date: 2026-07-28 - 2026-08-28 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB003325 Sectors: Kids Club Activity Coordinator Location: KwaZulu Natal , Pongola Salary: (Market related) Brief: Job Summary The Kids Club Host is responsible for creating exceptional, safe, and memorable experiences for young guests visiting the lodge. This role plans and delivers fun, educational, and conservation-focused activities while ensuring the highest standards of child safety, guest satisfaction, and luxury hospitality. The Kids Club Host works closely with all lodge departments to ensure children enjoy engaging bush experiences that complement their families' safari holiday. Key Duties & Responsibilities Child Care & Supervision Supervise children at all times in accordance with lodge child safety policies. Maintain appropriate child-to-host ratios. Ensure children follow lodge rules and wildlife safety guidelines. Operate secure sign-in and sign-out procedures with parents or authorized guardians. Monitor children's wellbeing and respond appropriately to medical or emotional needs. Administer basic first aid where required and report all incidents immediately. Maintain confidentiality regarding guest and child information. Activity Planning & Facilitation Plan and deliver daily Kids Club programmes for various age groups. Organize educational bush activities, treasure hunts, nature walks, arts and crafts, storytelling, games, and cultural experiences. Adapt activities according to weather conditions, safari schedules, and children's ages and interests. Prepare activity schedules and ensure all materials are available. Create memorable birthday celebrations and special holiday activities. Encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and independence. Conservation & Environmental Education Introduce children to African wildlife and conservation principles. Teach respect for nature, animals, and local cultures. Deliver interactive educational sessions about the environment. Encourage environmentally responsible behaviour throughout the lodge. Assist with junior ranger programmes where applicable. Guest Service Welcome families and introduce the Kids Club programme. Build positive relationships with children and parents. Communicate daily activity schedules and special events. Provide feedback to parents regarding children's participation. Handle guest requests professionally and efficiently. Deliver five-star service standards at all times. Health, Safety & Hygiene Ensure Kids Club facilities, toys, equipment, and activity areas remain clean and hygienic. Conduct daily safety inspections of indoor and outdoor activity areas. Ensure equipment is safe and suitable for children's use. Follow emergency evacuation procedures when required. Maintain compliance with lodge child protection and health & safety policies. Administration Complete attendance registers and activity logs. Record incidents, accidents, and daily reports. Maintain inventory of games, toys, books, and activity supplies. Report maintenance issues and equipment shortages. Assist with stock control and ordering of Kids Club supplies. Teamwork Work closely with Front Office, Guides, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Management. Assist with family events and special lodge functions. Support other departments during quieter operational periods. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions Detail: Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric). Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development, Childcare, Education, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field is advantageous. Valid First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one). Child Protection or Childcare training is advantageous. Experience Required Minimum 1–3 years' experience working with children in a hospitality, education, childcare, camp, au pair, or Kids Club environment. Experience within a luxury lodge, hotel, or resort is advantageous. Experience planning children's activities and educational programmes.
