Senior Full-Stack Software Developer (Python)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable, secure and high-performance enterprise applications. The successful candidate will have strong Python expertise, experience with modern front-end frameworks, and a solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems and enterprise integrations. The role requires a pragmatic engineering approach, strong problem-solving skills, end-to-end ownership and the ability to mentor developers while contributing to high-quality software solutions.

Experience

· 7–10+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development within enterprise or product-based environments.

· Strong Python development experience, including advanced object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming and software development best practices.

· Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask or FastAPI.

· Experience developing front-end applications using Angular, React or Vue.

· Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices.

· Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, preferably SQL Server, as well as exposure to NoSQL databases.

· Experience integrating enterprise systems, including ERP, finance, logistics or third-party SaaS platforms.

· Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies such as Docker.

Advantageous

· Relevant professional software development or cloud certifications.

· Experience with Kubernetes and DevSecOps practices.

· Experience in fintech, logistics, SaaS or enterprise systems.

· Knowledge of GraphQL and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

· Exposure to AI/ML integrations, API gateways or service mesh technologies.

· Experience working with Agile or Scrum methodologies.

· Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.

· Knowledge of security standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect and OWASP guidelines.

Key Requirements

· Strong Python expertise and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming and clean code principles.

· Experience developing scalable, maintainable and secure full-stack applications.

· Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript and responsive user interface development.

· Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices and distributed systems.

· Understanding of system scalability, performance optimisation, caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached, and security best practices.

· Experience working with SQL databases, preferably SQL Server, and exposure to NoSQL technologies.

· Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and modern software development practices.

· Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

· Proven ability to integrate enterprise applications and third-party systems.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic approach to engineering.

· Commitment to software craftsmanship, code quality, performance optimisation and attention to detail.

· Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to work independently and deliver against deadlines.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

· Ability to mentor and support other developers and contribute to shared engineering standards.

· A proactive, quality-focused approach to designing, developing and maintaining software solutions.

Additional Information

· Permanent position.

· Maximum budget of R83 000 per month CTC.

· Fully office-based.
