Introduction

Our client is looking for a Full Stack Developer/AI Integration Engineer with Java (backend), React/Angular (frontend), and AWS to join the core software engineering team spearheading the industrialization of new AI technologies and concepts.

In this high-impact position, you will support the business by implementing AI pilot use cases, with the ultimate goal of enabling PRIME IT teams to scale these cutting-edge technologies and concepts across their respective functional areas.

• Polyglot & Full Stack Expertise: Proven mastery across core backend and frontend technologies, including Java (Spring/SpringBoot), Python, Node.js, JavaScript, and Angular.

• Cloud Infrastructure & IaC: Hands-on experience developing and managing AWS cloud services, deploying infrastructure via Terraform and AWS CDK, and containerizing applications with Docker.

• Data Management & Quality Engineering: Deep proficiency in relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases, ORM layers (JPA, Hibernate), and code quality tools (Sonar, Git/GitHub).

• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation

• Level: Senior (6-8 Years experience)

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Software Design & AI Industrialization: Design and develop high-quality software solutions using full stack technologies to pilot and industrialize innovative AI concepts.

• Cloud & Service Management: Implement and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK; build and maintain backend services using Java, Python, and Node.js.

• Frontend & Database Optimization: Create and optimize frontend applications using Angular and JavaScript; manage PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and SQL database layers.

• CI/CD & Quality Assurance: Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Maven and Docker; ensure code quality and maintainability using Sonar and Git version control.

• Troubleshooting & Mentorship: Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects, participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.

• Agile Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features while contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar qualification.

• Extensive commercial experience in full stack development across various technologies.

• Proven track record of successful project delivery in a similar senior role within structured Agile and DevOps environments.

Essential Skills & Technologies

Full Stack & Core Development

• Proficiency in Java programming, specifically utilizing Spring & SpringBoot frameworks.

• Practical experience developing in Python and Node.js for server-side development.

• Strong understanding of JavaScript and Angular for frontend development.

• Knowledge of RESTful services for robust API design and development.

Cloud, IaC & Containerization

• Experience with AWS cloud services as the primary cloud platform.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform and AWS CDK.

• Experience with Docker for containerization alongside Maven for build management.

• Version control and code management using Git and GitHub.

• Code quality analysis using Sonar.

Database Management

• Expertise in SQL and relational database solutions (PostgreSQL, RDMS).

• Experience with JPA & Hibernate for Object-Relational Mapping (ORM).

• Experience with DynamoDB for NoSQL database management.

Advantageous Skills

• Advanced skills in Angular for frontend UI optimization.

• Experience with package management tools (NPM) and AWS CodeCommit.

• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

• Knowledge of Oracle databases.

• Generative AI: Understanding and practical experience with Generative AI use cases, LLM pipelines, or AI pilot projects.

• Coaching, mentoring, and delivering technical training to team members and users.

• Excellent presentation and structured problem-solving capabilities.
