Introduction

Our Client is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the core Software Engineering team within their global IT Hub, driving the "Retail Vehicle Management Services" (RVMS) product portfolio. RVMS represents the central backbone for all vehicle data entities across global retail and sales operations—comprising sub-products such as Vehicle Search Service (VSS), Vehicle Booking Services (VBS), and the Stock Search Frontend (SEAF/TASER). In this role, you will take senior technical ownership of scalable Java backend microservices, robust relational databases, and containerized cloud platforms on AWS.

• Enterprise Java & Spring Mastery: Minimum 8+ years of dedicated professional software engineering experience specializing in Java development, Java EE, and the Spring Framework ecosystem.

• Microservices & API Architecture: Proven expertise designing and building distributed microservices, RESTful API contracts, and scalable backend platforms managing vehicle search and booking workflows.

• Cloud Infrastructure, Containers & DevOps: Strong hands-on proficiency with AWS Cloud platforms, PostgreSQL/SQL databases, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Engineering: Architect, build, and maintain backend platforms, services, and APIs powering vehicle search and booking capabilities.

• System Design & Stakeholder Review: Translate complex business requests into scalable technical designs, presenting proposed architectures to IT and business stakeholders.

• Code Quality & Peer Reviews: Participate in rigorous code reviews, promote engineering best practices, enforce code quality standards, and mentor squad members.

• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear system architecture views, technical runbooks, and process documentation to streamline team onboarding.

• Agile Sprint Delivery: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives) to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables.

Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn. Please note that relocation to the province will be at the candidate's own cost.

• Version control systems: Git branching, repository management, and pull request workflows.

• Agile delivery frameworks and DevOps operational principles.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience in manual and automated test suite development.

• Exposure to web, digital, and stock search frontend integrations.

• Code quality scanning tools such as SonarQube.
