ABOUT THE ROLE

• Design, build, test and maintain robust software using C# / .NET and suitable frontend technologies.

• Develop and support APIs, backend services, internal tools and system integrations.

• Improve existing systems through refactoring, performance optimisation, stronger error handling, logging and maintainability.

• Translate business priorities into clear technical delivery with technology leadership and the wider team.

• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, code review, technical design and production support.

• Help productise internal shadow-development solutions where required.

• Work with non-technical stakeholders to understand operational problems and shape practical solutions.

• Support low-code and workflow platforms, including stabilisation or migration where needed.

• Mentor junior developers through code review, pairing and architectural guidance.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Strong hands-on C# / .NET experience.

• Solid API and backend engineering capability, with attention to reliability, validation, idempotency, versioning and security.

• Strong SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL experience.

• Database design ability across modelling, indexing, migrations and performance tuning.

• Full-stack capability, with the ability to build useful interfaces as well as backend logic.

• Genuine AI-assisted development experience, using AI as an accelerator while verifying outputs carefully.

• Practical understanding of prompts, context, retrieval, structured outputs, model limitations and safe usage.

• Engineering discipline across testing, code review, version control, CI/CD awareness and documentation.

• Clear communication and the confidence to explain technical issues to business users, managers and developers.

NICE TO HAVE

• Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.

• Power BI and reporting or dashboarding experience.

• Azure DevOps, Git, pull requests, build pipelines and release workflows.

• JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Blazor or similar frontend frameworks.

• Vector databases, embeddings, semantic search or retrieval-augmented generation.

• Observability, logging, monitoring and production incident support.

• Experience stabilising legacy, low-code or poorly documented systems.
