Introduction

JOB PURPOSE

  • To plan, execute and oversee all service workshop activities and ensure that every customer’s vehicle is serviced and repaired correctly the first time to the manufacturer’s standards.
  • This will be achieved through sound management and leadership principles whereby the team is motivated, using the correct procedures and resources.
  • The incumbent must ensure that the Service Department meets agreed CSI targets while attaining agreed labour sales and profits

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum of a Matric / Grade 12 with a recognised motor trade test certificate (red seal).
  • A recognised tertiary qualification will be a distinct advantage in sales, marketing, finance, operations, general management principles, etc.
  • At least 8 years operational working experience in a Service Workshop Department within the motor vehicle industry / dealership environment / with a recognised OEM brand – Mahindra experience will be a distinct advantage.
  • Service Workshop Foreman / Manager / Service Advisor / experience is required.
  • Must have In-depth technical knowledge of vehicles service /maintenance /repair requirements.
  • Must be able to manage and lead a team of technicians, apprentices, frontline service and support staff.
  • Must be able to manage customer requirements and needs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence as the job entails travel / testing of customer’s vehicles.
  • Must be a team player and develop excellent working relations with all Parts, Service Workshop, Sales and Support Staff
  • Must have a good command of English and a local language.
  • Must have computer skills and ability to utilize Microsoft Office, IAL, Evolve, CMS or a similar service / parts management system.
  • Must be medically fit – note the job entails a hands-on approach where physical work maybe required.
  • It is expected that the candidate has a clear criminal record based on the various verification checks that will be conducted.
  • The role is open to all suitable South African candidates who meet the recruitment criteria.
  • Although all suitable applications will be considered, it is preferred that the individual is based in the East Rand or close to the dealership.
