Senior Financial Analyst

Requirements: CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification. Bachelor of Accounting Honours degree (or equivalent). 7+ years post-articles experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, or a related field. Minimum 2 years’ experience managing or mentoring junior analysts. Demonstrable experience in payments, fintech, or digital services industries (preferred). Working knowledge of databases for large-scale data analysis. Experience with Power BI or equivalent data visualisation tools (preferred). Required Knowledge / Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis (Required) Expert-level Excel skills Commercial agreement structuring and margin/unit economics analysis (Required) Proficiency in SQL for querying large transactional datasets (Required) Understanding of payments infrastructure: transaction flows, settlement, clearing, and reconciliation (Required) Power BI or equivalent data visualisation and dashboarding tools (Preferred) Knowledge of South African payments ecosystem including aggregation, bill payments, airtime distribution, and voucher platforms (Preferred) Competencies: Commercial Acumen: Ability to assess financial viability, negotiate terms, and structure deals that optimise margins across a complex product portfolio. Analytical Thinking: Systematically breaks down complex data and commercial structures to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions. Stakeholder Influence: Communicates financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners, to drive alignment and action.
