Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

• Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to executive leadership.
• Partner with business leaders to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.
• Develop financial models and business cases to support investment and expansion opportunities.
• Drive profitability, financial sustainability, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee and manage the full finance function.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Deliver management accounts and executive reporting packs within strict deadlines.
• Monitor financial performance and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial information and reporting.

Compliance, Governance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and industry regulations.
• Manage and oversee the application of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 .
• Strengthen internal control environments and governance frameworks.
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee tax compliance, VAT submissions, and statutory reporting obligations.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks across the business.

Operational Finance

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Drive finance process improvements, digitisation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
• Support business units with financial analysis and performance management.
• Ensure effective utilisation of financial systems and reporting tools.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
• Drive succession planning and talent development within the finance function.

Requirements

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification is essential.
• Postgraduate finance qualification would be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience managing a full finance function within a medium to large organisation.
• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting expertise.
• Practical experience with IFRS 15
