We are looking for a professionally registered Senior Engineer or Senior Technologist to join an expanding Water & Wastewater Infrastructure team in Durban, delivering major municipal and bulk services projects across South Africa and selected international markets. This role offers the opportunity to guide projects from planning and design through to implementation, while contributing technical expertise to infrastructure with lasting social and environmental impact. Detail: Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, design and delivery of bulk water and wastewater infrastructure projects from feasibility through to construction and project close-out. Undertake and review the design of bulk water pipelines, bulk sewer pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, water treatment works and wastewater treatment works. Perform hydraulic modelling and engineering analyses to support infrastructure planning and design. Prepare feasibility studies, concept reports, technical reports, detailed designs, specifications, contract documentation and tender documents. Provide construction monitoring, contract administration and technical support during project implementation. Manage multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technologists, technicians, CAD personnel and specialist sub-consultants. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, client requirements, legislative obligations and the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Contribute to business development through proposal preparation, tender submissions, technical presentations and client engagement. Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff while promoting engineering excellence and continuous professional development. Minimum Requirements BEng, BSc (Eng) or BTech in Civil Engineering. Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng . Minimum 8–12 years' post-graduate experience in the planning, design and implementation of bulk water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Experienced in the design of bulk water pipelines, bulk sewer pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, water treatment works and wastewater treatment works. Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software, together with advanced proficiency with Autodesk suite, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of GCC, NEC and FIDIC forms of contract, with experience in construction monitoring, contract administration and project delivery. Strong technical and engineering judgement with the ability to apply practical, innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex engineering challenges. Project management capability, including programme management, resource planning, quality management, commercial awareness and financial control. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior technical staff and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of technical quality and client service.
