Start free — we apply for you →A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer or Engineer: Water Services to join their dynamic Water and Sanitation division. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with a passion for infrastructure development and sustainable water solutions. 
 Role Overview 
 Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will play a key role in the design, planning, and delivery of water and sanitation projects , contributing to both technical excellence and project success. 
 ? Minimum Requirements 
 
 • 
 BSc / BEng in Civil Engineering 

 • 
 Professionally registered as a Pr Eng (or within 12 months of registration) 

 • 
 8–10 years’ experience in water and sanitation engineering within a consulting environment 

 • 
 Strong design experience in municipal infrastructure projects 

 
 Key Skills & Experience 
 
 • 
 Proven experience in: 
 
 • 
 Water and sewer reticulation systems 

 • 
 Pump stations and bulk pipelines 

 • 
 Stormwater and flood management systems 

 

 • 
 Proficiency in: 
 
 • 
 AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET, HEC-RAS (or similar) 

 • 
 MS Office & MS Project 

 

 • 
 Solid project management and construction monitoring capability 

 • 
 Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills 

 • 
 Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members 

 
 ?? Key Responsibilities 
 
 • 
 Lead and contribute to the design of water and sanitation infrastructure projects 

 • 
 Manage project delivery, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence 

 • 
 Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and tender documentation 

 • 
 Oversee contract administration and construction monitoring 

 • 
 Mentor junior engineers and support team development 

 • 
 Engage with clients and support business development initiatives 

 • 
 Ensure compliance with quality management systems and industry standards 

 
 ? Advantageous Experience 
 
 • 
 Knowledge of GCC, FIDIC, or NEC contracts 

 • 
 Exposure to PPP projects or international funding agencies 

 • 
 Experience in hydrology, flood line determination, or GIS tools 

 • 
 Postgraduate qualifications or professional memberships (SAICE, CESA, WISA)
