Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Start Date: 2026-08-27 - 2026-09-26 Vacancy Type: Permanent SW006549 Sectors: Engineering & Technical Location: Gauteng , Tshwane (Pretoria) Salary: Brief: senior electrical engineer Our client, a well-established international engineering integration and manufacturing company, has an opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with at least 10 years + operational and design experience (inclusive of relevant design program exposure) to join their team in Pretoria Detail: The position is twofold, being managerial and technical related. The primary purpose of this role is to lead, plan, and execute professional electrical designs. This involves managing the full design lifecycle to deliver client-specific solutions while ensuring full compliance with relevant electrical codes and legal standards. Requirements: B.Eng in Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent NQF (preference). Alternative Diploma or B.Tech/M.Tech. Pr. Eng/Tech in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 10 years + operational and design experience (inclusive of relevant design program exposure) Professional registration with ECSA as Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng. will be highly advantageous Proven experience within mining, industrial, or heavy engineering environments. Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects. Strong exposure to industrial plant design and electrical infrastructure projects Sound knowledge of SANS standards and international electrical engineering standards. Thorough understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Proficiency in electrical engineering design software. Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems Strong Technical product knowledge Strong MCC design (SANS) knowledge Duties will include, but not limited to: Managerial Duties: Manage and control the electrical engineering department and all associated activities. Manage and ensure all projects adhere to the company's quality systems and safety standards. Monitor and support the electrical design engineering team and apply best practices. Ensure technical projects meet deadlines, eliminate waste, and are profitable. Liaise with the company's team and schedule services that this department must render to other departments. Team development planning ensuring that the team members adhere to the necessary procurement requirements. Report risks and gaps in projects. Technical Duties: Review and sign off detailed designs according to applicable standards and scope of works. Plan and align designs to business strategies and objectives to ensure effective customer service. Align designs with industry best practices to ensure effective cost management and adherence to safety regulations. Ensure continuous improvements on the designs for optimal and cost-effective implementation. Mentor and coach the draftspeople and engineers to ensure optimal utilization and development of these human resources. Implement design initiatives upon completion of project scoping, tendering and contract preparation with the client. Liaise with the respective clients pertaining to the design specifications and requirements to ensure client satisfaction. Prepare the scope of work, specifications, bill of quantities and tender documents in line with the client's needs and requirements. Compile further information for the manufacturing and software engineering phases of the project (ref a detailed 'data pack') to ensure successful implementation. Complete site audits of the client's existing infrastructure and to generate reports advising clients of technical and legislative compliance. Complete and review detailed medium voltage and low voltage electrical designs. Prepare commissioning procedures, documentation, and to manage commissioning activities.
